Fleishman Is in Trouble
by Taffy Brodesser-Akner
I started this at the beginning of the pandy, March 2020, but put it down because I just could not with a neurotic New Yorker while I was panicking about paying rent. But now that things are a little more stable and Hulu has made a show of this book I picked it back up and enjoyed this quite a bit. It's basically about the collapse of a marriage and how everyone is fucked up from it. But also about marriage in general and losing yourself to parenthood and work and not balancing things correctly, realizing it, and not knowing how to fix it. So a lot of real life stuff. I guess the author wrote a short Fleishman in Lockdown story and I thought about it but I just don't think it's necessary - story wise this ending was pretty perfect. The writing was top notch.
