I really wanted to like this book, but sadly the main character irritated me so much. She was obnoxious, rube, selfish and she just generally annoyed me sadly.

However aside from her I enjoyed some of the other characters, like Mary and Iain. And as I am familiar to where it is set I really enjoyed reading a book set in the city! 

The plot would be something normally I'm interested in however it just fell a bit flat for me and I just couldn't fully get into the book sadly.
