The Tale of the Body Thief by Anne Rice

3.0

liked it much better than the queen of the damned's last act but i also suggest checking the trigger warning before reading this book as there is a questionable scene tha shouldn't have been there or that passers-by.

lestat baffled me with all the bad decisions he's made, but all and all, i liked the way lestat's pain of being himself was shown and how he came to realise where he stands in life. other than those nice bits, the story was okay and very predictable. i read the blurb and knew the ending already. however, the main thing i couldn't have guessed would be how down bad lestat was for david talbot. cause DAMN, he wants the old man so badly, in a very "my six eyes tell me it's him but my soul tells me it's not" gojo satoru type of way.

but yeah, i agree with louis in not helping lestat cause he needs to find his own ways. AND LEARN BASIC HUMAN DECENCY. but i guess i am okay with where he is now, considering he is embracing some form of poetic existential agony.

and i surely will read faust.
