Recursion by Blake Crouch

5.0

'He wondered lately if that's all life really is - one long goodbye to those we love.'

The book centres around Barry and Helena. Barry is a Cop in 2018, trying to coax a woman off the edge of a roof; she has what people are calling False Memory Syndrome. When she jumps, Barry can't help but feel the need to investigate the origins of this phenomenon. Helena is a scientist in 2007 trying so very hard to find a cure for Alzheimer's, but has she created something else entirely?

This book was fantastic, it had my mind going round in circles. Did I enjoy Dark Matter more? Yes. Was it still amazing? Yes. Crouch does Science Fiction/Thrillers like Bruce Lee does Martial Arts. I can't really say much without ruining this one for people, all I will say is that it was horrific in parts, it had me pulling all sorts of grimace faces. But there was also a beautiful message about love and how it can help you withstand even the biggest obstacles.

This one is out June 13th in the UK! Thank you so much to Pan MacMillan for the gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.
