If you just want some silly, mindless fun without any particularly high stakes - this could be worth a shot.
It reads a bit kiddish, I wasn't really sure who the intended audience was, but I can imagine 13 year old boys enjoy it and there's nothing that would make it inappropriate for them. We do also get a dual timeline, one of which follows Benny and a couple of friends having a bit of a crazy adventure in boarding school, which kids would likely get some fun from reading.
The breaking the fourth wall sections grated on me a bit, but I personally don't like them in general.
Overall, a fun, fast read, but if you're expecting a thriller/ horror/ adult novel, you might be a bit disappointed.
