Desperately Seeking Roommate by Micalea Smeltzer

4.0

I was so excited for this book. Micalea Smeltzer is quickly becoming one of my go to authors. There are not many books in which the heroine is actually a plus-sized woman with confidence. It was incredibly refreshing to read about these characters.

Lou suddenly needs a roommate after her landlord raises her rent. She posts an add and Abel, a star football player, answers it. Abel and Lou have instant chemistry, though Lou does not necessarily believe that Abel could be interested in someone like her. Will Lou be able to find comfort in Abel and will she open up to being with a man who is sweet, fun, and caring?

Overall, I enjoyed reading this book. With that being said, I am giving the book four stars because so much of it revolved around food. Plus-size people think and talk about things outside of food. It was hard to find a chapter, let alone a page, without Lou mentioning food or Abel thinking about the food that Lou was eating. I think that this made Lou's character a bit less vibrant because while people do eat and think about food, it is generally not something that people are constantly talking about. However, this is still a book that should be read as Lou and Abel are a fun and sexy couple that are sure to entertain.
