The Rest of the Story by Sarah Dessen

2.0

We all know what we're getting here in the Dessen formula. Wholesome white teen angst in the summertime.

It's so nice to imagine a world that's always friendly and innocent like this. Everyone has enough money and they know how to solve conflict. Their parents are rad too (except when they're not, and half the characters don't have money, but this gives our protagonist the opportunity to learn, but still while fully immersed in her privilege.)

Hey easily entertained people who love to read about a crush: toss this one into your beach bag, and it might help you take a nap.

I was hoping for a crush-to-relationship plot line, maybe a little sizzle. What I got was fizzle. Less than fizzle. Warm oatmeal?
