The Next Right Thing: A Simple, Soulful Practice for Making Life Decisions by Emily P. Freeman

5.0

Chances are if you’ve interacted with me at all in the past months I’ve mentioned, quoted, or praised this book. In a nutshell, this book has lightened the load of what it means to make a decision - and the weight we often carry during and after that decision has been made. Author Emily Freeman gently leads you into contemplative postures and mindful practices and prayers without it becoming another burdensome task on the to-do list. I have been savoring this book. Slow and sweet. Meditating on specific ideas, prayers, practices for a week or more before moving onto the next small, palatable chapter. Freeman doesn’t present rocket-science ideas here, and she’s not pretending that she is. She is genuine and endearing, making the book not only helpful but also an enjoyable read. I can’t recommend this book enough!
