I added this book to my TBR and then magically, the next day, I found a physical copy at my friend's house who was more than welcome to let me borrow it. The beauty of the human connection! I don't know if that what made the book magical, but that definitely helped the cause.

I love how whimsical and poetic the writing style is. It's too much, but exactly what I would expect a teenager to be thinking at their age. At least, I was like that, so I felt seen.

The beauty of queer stories is that there are so many layers of identities and relationships that the characters can explore without resorting to gender norms and heteronormativity. It shows how complex, and messy, but also beautiful the human being can be.

I also love accepting internalized homophobia. It's very relatable. I love the parents who don't understand, but still support. I love friendship that naturally evolve into something more.

I wish more young adult books were like this. And I wish I have read it when I was 16.
