“There is no reality in my mind where I can let you go.”

I’m sorry, but we get a “burly and bearded fisherman?” Excuse me? *screams in excitement cause I was a simp for Brendan Taggert in IHOS* Honestly, the premise of this book is giving IHOS but I’m not complaining since I loved that book so much.

And Canadian points! Oh my god, I’m getting a Canadian version of this book. I need to stop.

Funny enough, Book 1 is on my tbr but here I am starting with Book 3. Nothing is more Kim-coded than that. I now have the other two borrowed though.

Anyways, to the actual book, despite it being basically the same as IHOS, I was attached. I couldn’t put this down. I loved the small-town setting and side characters, the grumpy x sunshine, Mel and Evan’s banter, the fake dating/engagement … *chef’s kiss* I loved them individually and together. I was rooting for them so much.

This book was fun. I enjoyed reading it. There were so many cute moments and I love how they actually had time to develop. My only ick is the third act drama cause it was stupid. They were on a path to resolve that so well until it just had to blow up for five minutes. Like, just use that five minutes to have a conversation but that's too much to ask for ig.
