Seabiscuit: An American Legend
by Laura Hillenbrand
wOW, I find Seabiscuit’s story so compelling. It might be because I’m a bit awed by horses, particularly this one who displays incredible personality, intelligence, and mettle. It might be because of the fascinating cast of people around Seabiscuit—his socialite owner, his silent trainer, his broken jockey—who display such raw humanness and stubborn determination.
Or maybe I’m just like everyone else in America during this era of horse racing—I love a good underdog story.
