Love Is for Losers by Wibke Brueggemann

2.0

Let's start with honesty: I couldn't finish this. I don't know where I gave up exactly, somewhere around half way through. Maybe I'll be told later that it does get better and pick it back up, but for now… I just can't. Our narrator, Phoebe, rubbed me all the wrong ways and I can see her "quirky/cynical" attitude to be a major downfall of this book for many other readers. To make it worse: she has a dated cringe feeling, circa 2008 that I was never sure was supposed to be ironic or was a tragic style choice.
