I can see why this book is so popular!
Overall, the world building in this wasn’t my favorite, just because it was so harsh. It seems like very few people in this society are truly free and happy. That’s not usually my favorite thing to read about, but it wasn’t a deal breaker. Overall, I definitely enjoyed this book! Well-fleshed characters with differing motivations are always my jam. I also have a thing for fight-to-the-death type stories like this, or high-stakes competition stories in general.
The end was a great set up that laid clear paths and goals for the characters in book 2, so I’m excited to keep going! ❤️
