I'm completely hooked.
Rarely does a sequel surpass book 1 but this series is going from strength to strength.
Shallan is a brilliant character in this installment. I was a bit iffy about her in part 1 of book 1 and was hoping she would continue getting better. In fact, all of the characters become more intriguing. Very few of even the side characters are one note. They all have rich histories and depth. Kaladin had me groaning in parts but I think him and Dalinar are still my favourites.
There's a development that was easy to spot early on and I was disappointed until it was properly revealed. Even knowing the bones of a revelation doesn't compare to when it actually happens.
The book had such a satisfying climax and ending while keeping enough questions and intrigue to keep you invested in the next instalment. Any fan of fantasy would be crazy not to read this series.
