Kristy and the Snobs
by Ann M. Martin
I loved this book! I remember reading it over and over as a child but didn't expect to still love it so much as an adult. There are two main stories - Kristy making friends in her new neighbourhood and learning not to judge people without talking to them first, and Kristy's dog, Louie, getting old and having to be put down. Both stories, but particularly the one about Louie, were very touching and well written. There is also a subplot in the background where Jeff wants to move back to California, which I suppose is building up to this event in a later book. This is also the book where Shannon joins the BSC as an associate member and there are hints that Mallory may join in the future as she helps Claudia on a sitting job. Ann M. Martin manages to address all of these issues appropriately and still make this an enjoyable and amusing book - definitely one of the best in the series! 10/10
