Someone You Can Build a Nest In by John Wiswell
5.0
I buddy-read this with a couple of friends - though, of course, I was the last to finish. Not because I struggled with it, but simply because I kept zoning out and taking my time with it.
And honestly? I loved this book! It was an oddly cozy fantasy romance, despite the body horror and monster elements. Wholesome yet tragic. A perfect mix of both. I absolutely adored Shesheshen, the monster at the heart of this romance. Experiencing the story through her POV made her feral, quirky nature even more endearing. The whole book, really, had this wonderfully offbeat charm.
I’ll definitely be reading more from this author!
