Maybe not, the sequel to Maybe Someday, explores the dynamic between Warren, the Sounds of Cedar band manager, and the bitter angry new roommate Bridgette. She closes everyone off but Warren is immediately enthralled with how mean yet unexpected she is. The journey he goes on to break down her walls is emotional, addictive, and completely draws you in. A perfect combination of stubbornness meets enemies to lovers.

Warren breaks down three walls in his pursuit of Bridgette. (1) In the shower, he gets her to admit she’s never loved or been loved, but is both capable of and deserves love. (2) At Warren’s sister’s house after she kisses him on the cheek, acknowledging that they can be “together” in a more traditional way and be exclusive at that. Finally, (3) Both of them say “I love you” to each other. The end of a long and difficult emotional journey where Bridgette finally opens her heart and feels accepted.
