A very good book by Philip Pallman. Again he has created a mystery fit for the penny dreadful.
This book's main character is a very independent young woman. However the only flaw to this is that it is set in the Victorian era. Sally's life is turned upside down when her father dies and leaves her a mysterious message. And nothing much to her in his will. To make matters worse 10,000 pounds are missing from his bank account. Sally enlists the help of a thief, a photographer, an actress and a shipping agent's dogsbody to help her figure out the mystery to her fathers last message.
