This book was heartbreaking. I grew to love both Mateo and Rufus. They were both incredibly lovable characters and there were so many aspects to each of their personalities that you could related to. This book is heavy, but so incredibly worth it. Focusing on grief, loss, denial, anger and ultimately knowing your time is running out.

I enjoyed following not only Mateo and Rufus, but getting POV glimpses from those they impacted not only on their End Day, but in different phases of their lives. I enjoyed so many aspects of their relationship, but ultimately it was how they balanced and pushed each other. Ultimately, this book was an interesting way to look at life and how we live it. I do feel like the ending would have been better had they died together, but in the end, we all know, they die at the end.
