Great Expectations
by Charles Dickens
I'm generally not a reader of classic novels unless they are unputdownable. This classic novel was indeed just that. This story was like a soap opera; who did that? who married who? Why was that character doing that? So many intertwined story lines with interconnected dramas. I loved this book. The language I had to put aside and get past but the story was so inviting it hardly required the effort. This was a long novel and yet it barely took longer than a week to finish. I can now see why this novel makes so many must read lists. Amazing! Now I must ask are all Dickens' novels like this?
