Wren is an ACE high school senior struggling with the realities of becoming student council president on a technicality, misappropriation of the school budget, a dating app (that pretends it’s not a dating app), romance with out sexual attraction, and his vice president is also his arch nemesis. Buddy, the social media app teenagers use as a dating app, matches you based on personality and Wren hates it! So it sponsoring the valentines dance that Wren also hates all because of his VP, Leo means that Wren has a lot to be grumpy about. Testing out the app to prove to himself how awful it is leads to an anonymous friendship and anonymous crush that makes Wren realizes maybe being ACE doesn’t mean he can never have a relationship. This book was so cute, also deals with grief pretty heavily and there is lots of LGBTQIA+ rep.
