The story was so slow in the first 2/3 of the book that I almost dnf'd it several times. But there was so much hype about it on BookTok, that I felt like I had to stick it out to figure out what all the fuss was about.
The pace picked up for the last 1/3, but I just felt like the "twists" were super predictable.
I cared more about the story of the Carrol family way more than the mystery pieces at play.
This us only my second Karin Slaughter book. I liked Girl, Forgotten way more.
