While I Was Sleeping by Dani Atkins

4 stars! Dani Atkins is one of my all time favourite writers and I was so thrilled to receive this ARC. Without getting too much into the plot (I don’t want to spoil for others), the story is about 28 year old Maddie, a woman about to marry the man she loves. Maddie is also expecting a baby but sadly is hit by a car in front of her fiancé leaving her in a coma for 6 years (yep 6 years!). Maddie finally wakes to see just how much has changed in her life and has to work out how to adjust. This was a truly emotional read that left me pondering the different themes of the story (fate, moving on, parent-child relationships to name a few). I really had no idea how this story would end as the author was hinting at a few possible conclusions. The ending certainly caught me off guard but I must admit I found it slightly confusing and unsure if I missed something. Nevertheless, another wonderful story by the wonderful Dani Atkins.
