Complete departure for the series
The overall writing of the third book was fine but the story is a total derailment from prior books. Without spoiling the books I would advise fans of the first two books that this is like reading a random book from a different LitRPG series. The ending was not satisfying and it seems like a fourth book will not be coming for a long time.
Might be best to wait till the fourth book is released to determine if the series can course correct
