I really enjoyed listening to this book via @Libro.fm's Educator ALC program. I was engaged in the story from the first and also it was very informative about MAGRA (sp?) and how museums have appropriated Native American ceremonial objects and human remains and then refused to return them to the communities even today. The book also tackles the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women movement. It is really hard not to compare this to Firekeeper's Daughter, and I did think that the ending and reveal of the mystery was a little less developed and had less hints leading up to it. Highly recommend for high schoolers and adult readers who can handle the heavy content.
Graphic: Cultural appropriation and Kidnapping
Moderate: Murder
Minor: Sexual violence, Racism, Gaslighting, and Rape
