Picking Daisies on Sundays by Liana Cincotti

emotional lighthearted reflective

3.0

As cute as this is, it is a VERY YA book. Of course, it IS advertised as YA, but there is a scale. This is on the younger side, and it is 1000 % all about angst, and unfortunate misunderstandings and misinterpreting each other. If you want that, then this is going to be an amazing book for you.

I did love the poetry sprinkled throughout the book, and at the beginning of the chapters. Levi was a great book boyfriend, and while a little overbearing - I'll excuse it for the book's sake.
Also, Levi the poet was definitely breathtaking.

My biggest issues with the book:
1) Some phrasing in the book became repetitive and there would be a mention of an event earlier on in a chapter and then later on they would be a full explanation of the same event- either later in the chapter or in the next one.
2) Daisy/Danielle had the self esteem of a potato.
3) They were both so oblivious it was painful.
4) We get it...the guy was hot. We didn't need to hear about how EVERYONE was into him.
5) At 22 this woman is acting like a virgin who's never seen a shirtless man.

While cute enough for me to finish, I didn't love it. It was a bit more YA than I was looking for - and the Misunderstanding trope is one i haaaaaate so much. So this one was more of a miss for me
