The Vegetarian by Han Kang

3.0

A woman decides to stop eating meat, and gradually her life completely changes.

There were some absolute GEMS within this book, the writing was clever and the characters had strange but relatable aspects.

That being said, I felt the pace was off, there were too many lulls for me where bits of the story were being repeated and one character felt very underdeveloped compared to the others.

If you're into the weird and dark books, then this is a definite read, but it won't be a favourite (imo). Kangs ideas are excellent, I just felt they weren't explored enough to bring this book up to 'outstanding'.
