I'm a sucker for books spanning multiple generations in a family. The first 300 or so pages were all pretty incredible but didn't blow my mind or do anything better than I think many books like One Hundreds Years of Solitude or East of Eden have done, but those last 200 blew me the fuck away. The way the events of the book take a left turn and then the consequences of everyone's actions REALLY began to be felt was one of the most impressive and riveting things I've read in my adult life
