It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover

5.0

When you’ve lived most of your life numb to your emotions and then you read, “It Ends With Us,” and Colleen Hoover makes you FEEL something. (Naked Truth)

Wow, what to say about this book. This is a book you need to dive into headfirst and completely blind. That’s if you’re like me and it’s 2023 and you still haven’t read this book. I, of course, have now read it.

A frog in boiling water. That’s the best way I’ve heard of describing what domestic abuse is like. No one chooses it. No one starts a relationship thinking they’re going to end up in that situation. It’s something that happens slowly, and in isolated incidents, before they know it they’re in over their head.

“Of the total domestic violence homicides, about 75% of the victims were killed as they attempted to leave the relationship or after the relationship had ended.”

Even when women/men leave these relationships they still aren’t safe. It’s not as simple as just leaving. These victims need a team of people and a society that understands domestic violence. This book can help educate people. And that’s something important and something to be proud of.
