Finally found a book about black life and didn't feel like I was drowning in sorrows. The magic and spiritual aspects that are found within the black community were present in Leslye's novel. The resilience and POWER found within the black community was written on every page. It was refreshing to read something so about us that was swimming in loss, despair and never finding a way out on top. THANK YOU LESLYE PENELOPE for this beautifully written novel, research and information given at the end of the novel and your recommendations for other books.
