This book covers themes of suffering and death, while using the ongoing motif of games and technology to apply such themes in a manageable setting, making it easier for both the characters and a reader to handle the heavy emotional burdens of life. While being fiction, this book has a surprising factual value, which may be owed to the confrontation of real-life problems, avoiding glossing over reality with fantastical details.
