The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson

3.0

The book was quoted as hilarious in some of the positive reviews and interview at the end of the book. In my opinion, on a scale of 10, the story is 2 hilarious. The set up of characters, build up and story is decent with some humor stuff, but I didn’t laugh out loudly at least once in the 400 pages, I read. The story after Allan’s 100th birthday is decent, but his early life events narrated were too much to handle. The measure of author’s madness in wild imagination had no bounds is what I felt. Alan, the protagonist of the story works with pretty much all the leaders during world war 2 and yes, you as a reader should have a basic knowledge about all those leaders or else you’ll end up spending more time trying to know about those leaders. I probably would neither recommend nor gift this book.
