While I love the concept and the character design, most of DeConnick's first run on Captain Marvel left me cold. It had great ideas, but it just wasn't executed as well as I wanted it to be. The Enemy Within, though, feels like a complete story and also does some interesting interaction with Carol Danvers history in the larger Marvel Universe. The art was inconsistent but largely good.
