This books was fast paced and I enjoyed reading.
I loved the idea of a magical academy with different elemental powers, hidden secrets and secret societies.
I wanted a bit more tension and hate between the two main characters before they started to feel their attraction to each other and I did want to see more of Kiras badass fighting and slyness from her assassin past to solve some things and beat the other mages considering her backstory. I enjoyed their two mcs fights and her trying to kill him though.
I liked the fate bond and how they both didn’t accept it until later on as their relationship developed. I would have liked a bit more show than tell, especially during the form of their relationship.
The worldbuilding was simple but very effective especially when showing the divide between the mages and mudanes as well as the power the ancients used to have.
Overall I enjoyed this book and will love to read the next books in the series.
