Thank you to NetGalley and Orbit Books for the ARC of The Isle in the Silver Sea by Tasha Suri.

Suri delivers a beautifully written, dual-POV sapphic fantasy filled with reincarnation romance, rich symbolism, and a fairytale-steeped medieval Britain setting. The story follows a lady witch and a lady knight in a doomed love that spans centuries, exploring themes of fate, the power of stories, and offering sharp commentary on forced assimilation, censorship, and the self-interest of centralized power.

I loved the use of metaphor and the well-executed tropes; found family and grumpy/sunshine. The ending was especially satisfying wrapping everything up in a way that felt earned and complete. My main challenge was the pacing in Part 1, where I struggled to stay engaged, and the large cast and intricate magic system sometimes left me rereading to follow along.

Regardless, this a thoughtful and ambitious novel with a lot of heart, and I think it is worth reading.
