Among the Heather by Samantha Young
4.5
If Samantha Young writes it, I'm gonna read it, and chances are, I'm gonna love it. Among the Heather is no exception. This book was fantastic. North and Aria are perfect for each other, and North is a man worth swooning over. This was an amazing addition to the series and the Ardnoch world Young is creating.
When I say North is a man worth swooning over, I mean. The way he cared for Aria and continuously showed he cared for her, I mean, how can you not fall in love with him. I absolutely loved how much he just wanted the best for Aria and how much he just wanted to build a life with her. When he fell, that man fell hard and it was so freaking perfect. He definitely had some moments I wanted to shake him, but I love that he recognized that himself almost instantly every time. He was truly the perfect male lead for this book and Aria, and Aria was the perfect female lead for him.
I loved the strength Aria constantly demonstrated throughout this book, and I loved watching her learn to be vulnerable with North, even when she was in denial about her feelings. The personal growth she had throughout this book was so beautiful and I loved that she found that strength not because of North, but definitely with his help. I loved that she was able to find her confidence again and that she learned not to live in the past.
I really did love this one, and the set up for the next book and future books in the series was absolutely perfect. The mystery/suspense subplot of this one wasn't as prominent as other books from Young, but I still loved it and how it played a part in the story. I would 100% recommend this book, series, and author to anyone.
✔️ Fling/No Strings
✔️ Forced Proximity
✔️ Celebrity
✔️ He Falls First
✔️ Curvy Heroine
✔️ Small Town Vibes
✔️ Mystery/Suspense Subplot
✔️ First Person Dual POV
