Lord of Winter by Kathryn Le Veque

1.0

This is a 4.52, with over 1200 ratings. I don't honestly think it's a 1, but seriously we need some balance here. I can't read this book. Another reviewer said the writing is clunky, amateurish, with over exposition. Well, yes, it is. As for the clunky writing, there will an entire paragraph of stunted sentences, seemingly with a period every few words. The next paragraph may have one long run on sentence. There is a great deal of repetition and over explanation. Once you tell me who someone,os, or what they are like, you need not repeat it over and over. In early pages we are told of the character of the brother in law. A scene with him interacting with the sisters before the battle would have been very effective at demonstrating his character as opposed to pages telling us what he was like.

Obviously many people are fine with reading novels at this skill level. This lady is making money selling it. It's just not for me.
