3.5

Probably closer to 3.5 strictly because the narrators for this audiobook were fantastic. They voiced these characters with more emotion and dimension than the author wrote them with. Everything felt so cliche and predictable. I almost always struggle with books that rely on the cultural and generational familial loyalty plot. I just find it absolutely infuriating. And I was very close to DNF-ing about the 40% mark if they were going to run any further with the FMC makeover mini plot. But alas, I made it through to the end because it was bookclubs pick lol.
