The Memory Police
by Yōko Ogawa
fucked me up before the sem exams.
[slight spoiler]
heard some negative reviews talking about how the protagonist doesn't do anything against the memory police but for me it's not a revolutionary tale but a cautionary one. it talks about, quite aptly, how a lack of resistance against authoritarianism leads to slow painful death of your personhood.
