Attack of the Jack-O'-Lanterns by R.L. Stine

4.0

Drew, Walker, Shane and Shana (the latter two are twins) all want to get back at Lee and Tabby for a mean joke they played on them at their Halloween party two years ago. They come up with a plan. But Drew and Walker are late meeting Shane and Shana, so the two of them head out with Lee and Tabby. That's when they're approached by two creatures with Jack-O-Lanterns for heads, flames shooting out of their faces. They take Drew, Walker, Lee and Tabby to a neighbourhood to trick or treat - where they want to keep them trick or treating forever! And where are Shane and Shana?

This was an entertaining story for Halloween. It barely takes any time to read and is a lot of fun. The twist at the end is completely arbitrary, and one that this series seems to pull out an awful lot,
SpoilerShane and Shana are actually shapeshifting aliens
, which is about the only negative thing I can say about it. But, hey, I don't think you're supposed to think too hard about these books! Very entertaining and quick read.
