This book was recommended by a friend, and I have loved other books I've read by Stephanie Holmes, so I knew it was going to be good. Gosh, from the moment I started this book I knew it would have a special place in my heart. The world-building was beautiful and the characters made me want to float in their space. All Alaric's hobbies being all over the space tickled me so much, being a serial crafter myself. I absolutely understood the need for hobbies to fill the space. And when you live that long of a life, whose to say what knowledge you might acquire. That feeling of perfectionist behavior I felt in the depths of my soul. And Winnie's need to arrange and make systems of things makes so much sense having read the book. I loved and hated (because they were so good) the descriptors of some of the scenes (iykyk) and how Winnies fears came to light. I wanted so many cups of Reginald's hot cocoa, I bet it's perfection! The journey from start to finish was so absolutely good that I was sad when I'd read the last word. The urge to be a part of book club and the coven was such a want! And getting to see our little group from the bookshop, perfection! Although, I will not be eating Beth's weird food.
