I usually skip this one. Idk why but it just doesn't work for me. Maybe because I enjoy/prefer Daine interacting with Numair and other Tortallans?

I don't find the realms of the gods that interesting, although I love Broadfoot and the dragons, of course.

One of the best "intro" books to a series I've ever read. Easily in my top 20 of all time books.
1. Emperor Mage
Daine Loses Her Temper is perhaps one of the best chapter titles + understatements ever. Additionally, the dinosaurs saying goodbye never fails to make me cry, and Bone Dancer is one of my favorite friends Daine makes across the series. Zek + keys! Also I think the Graveyard Hag is a hoot.
