this took me forever to get through. the writing is ok but the story isnt much. while i definitely could see something like this happening in real life, i didnt... care. going back and forth through time was confusing. having a mostly-omnipotent narrator made it hard to focus. tangents galore. the characters were not particularly compelling. there were definitely some hard-hitting and beautiful moments, but overall it was just kind of a slog.
