Eh. I liked Caves of Steel more, and I’m glad that I read it first or I may not have continued exploring Asimov’s work after this.
I’m sure this was important for its time, but Asimov was a much more experienced writer by the time he wrote Caves of Steel and it shows. These short stories weren’t bad; the logic puzzle aspect of them was okay. But by the third or fourth short story I was very, very tired of humans who know how robots are programmed in this universe still getting angry and deciding robots were crazy at any slight irregularity, instead of starting with the assumption there was a reasonable root cause and working forward from there.
