I don’t think this author has ever met a nine year old. The plot move of transferring a fully sleeping child from car to bed to car without her waking up - whenever it’s convenient to write the kid out of scenes - sends me more than the jailbreak or mafia storyline. Both leads have their brain cells leak right out of their heads in the third act to set up the dumbest inciting incident of all time.
