A recent Caldecott Honor and a really good one. This reads like some of our family favorites like [b:Owl Moon|228696|Owl Moon|Jane Yolen|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1390829388l/228696._SX50_.jpg|3070357] and [b:Birdsong Lullaby: Story and Pictures|701277|Birdsong Lullaby Story and Pictures|Diane Stanley|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1413593518l/701277._SX50_.jpg|687577] and [b:The Big Big Sea|1098025|The Big Big Sea|Martin Waddell|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1387711171l/1098025._SX50_.jpg|207204]. It is told from the child's perspective going through her day and hanging out with her mom. And it has quietly good art. What is is missing is actually BEING one of our family favorites but it is hard to hold that against it. This is definitely one worth reading and recommending especially with the expectation of re-reading.
