Aquaman, Volume 5: Sea of Storms, by Jeff Parker

While Aquaman remains one of my favorite DC characters volume 5 of his series was a disappointment. There is no real direction here. Parker seems to just try to throw as many things as he can at the reader hoping something might stick but nothing really does. He tries everything, Hercules, escaped ancient monsters, Swamp Thing, Wonder Woman, corporate gene splicers, and on and on but while these are okay as stand alones they never really add up to a whole story and the art throughout seems a little uninspired despite a host of other worldly, under sea settings.
