It was an interesting concept, however not executed properly. It makes you repulse at the thought that men like so still exist…also many plotholes. This book didn’t have a conclusive ending…Also the book is dedicated to a black victim of police brutality, but such a topic is barely mentioned, almost an afterthought. We see Lila and Clint slowly drifting and breaking up at the end. We get a reason why, but not a substantial one to see why Lila absolutely hates Clint with such a burning passion. All the gay characters die. The Shila Norcross subplot is never revisited. And the biggest unrealistic thing is that ALL the women AGREE to comeback??? How?? And the whole discussion happened in the matter of HALF A PAGE. And they’re weren’t even living in a world just without men, but a world without technology too! So hardly a fair comparison. Why do Dooling women get to choose for the WHOLE WORLD?? Innocent women and children are killed, burned, for no reason. Did it seriously take a global pandemic for men to get better? Which they don’t even do at the end.
Why did I rate it so high though? It was an escape for me. It was the only thing I looked forward for at school. It was comfort(?) and interesting enough. Total personal bias, but yeah.
