The Siren by Tiffany Reisz

I seriously have no idea how to rate this.
I would've passed this on as another erotic book, but the writing, no doubt, is absolutely mesmerizing. The themes that this book picked up were raw and tiffany reisz definitely aimed to dive deep into it. So this isn't your daily dose of smut, hell this shouldn't be your daily dose of anything. This is a kind of book to read at night, when your mind is open to all kinds of fuckery and your eyes ready to be dabbed constantly by a tissue.
I was hooked up for about 50%, nodding my head, dancing to nora's tunes like everyone in the book did. Maybe I was hoping things between nora and wesley would be justified? maybe i was hoping søren would finally be declared as a bad guy?
nopes.
now trust me i've read all kinds of fucked up books. and as i said before, i would've considered this as yet another taboo smut read had the author not tried to go so deep in the psychology behind the motives of the characters and tried so hard to convince me that any of nora's or søren's actions are justifiable. And thus my conclusion,
I do not like nora. AT ALL.
1. Søren practically groomed nora when she was a minor. She was a teen and he was very well in his twenties. He introduced her to Sado-Masochism Relationship (S&M) -when she was a teen- and that obviously got her excited. She's very much in love with Søren and wants to be in a S&M relationship with him. He denies and waits for her until she becomes legal and "ready for him" (literal words of the book)
2. Cut to present. Nora is in her thirties, and she still loves Søren. They've broken up because nora couldn't handle the brutal S&M relationship with Søren. Atleast that's what's told us in the first half of the book. (let's ignore how during the second half she completely flipped and "always knew" she was made for søren and his cruel practices) *rolls eyes*
Plenty of flashbacks to Nora crying and her "mind not being present" while Søren fucked her. Reading her flashbacks with Søren basically felt like a torture dream (He literally beat her with a fucking cane while she was chained down. One time while she was showering he creeped up and fucked her anus (it was her first time) but she forgot her safe word so she couldn't save herself knowing he wouldn't stop even after she said no (basic s&m rules or whtvr
