Blood Sugar by Daniel Kraus

5.0

Once you take a chapter or two to get into the narrative style, this book does not disappoint. You honestly have sympathy for every character by the end for one reason or another, even the "villain" of the story doesn't stay that way for very long.

There are so many themes going on but it somehow all works. Interestingly enough, the story ends on a semi-positive note of the fact that life has possibilities and, even if things don't go according to plan, you can still make the choice to follow a path or deviate from it.

A real big thing in this book is that no one is perfect and everyone is prone to mistakes and making poor choices that can affect not just one person's life, but multiple.

There isn't a solid ending so whatever happens after this Halloween night is up for the reader to decide.
